Leebug was created to enhance the conference experience through facilitation of better networking tools. We also look to create the balance between user privacy and better communication. User profiles are protected with a default Private setting while an email system is directly integrated into the site.
I’d like to mention two features that make the Leebug contact system efficient.
First invitations have gone out and members of the hedge fund community have begun joining the site, welcome all. Leebug was built with the financial industry in mind, however it is by no means limited to anyone. Hedge fund conferences just seem to be some of the most expensive and exclusive events around and an opportunity was seen to embrace Web 2.0 and bring online networking to the conference goers.
Lisa Vioni and I came up with the concept for Leebug while running Hedge Connection. Not only did we see an opportunity to bring online networking to the conference industry, but we also wanted to build a website where we could reach more people than we could with Hedge Connection which has strict rules for membership.
