The event community is an essential part of pre-conference networking. It’s something that projects Leebug far beyond being just a mobile app company. But good technology is only beneficial to those that use it and engage in it. Fortunately there is often a large percentage of the attendees that end up driving the community, but how do you get the others? The reluctant or the less tech savvy. We have a few solutions for getting more engagement out of the delegates.

Notifications (Send a Message)

The easiest way to encourage attendees to participate is to send them an email. With our Notifications feature you can send out an message to the entire event community. The message can even be segmented as to only send to the Presenters or only the Attendees, or even individually. The Notification message be anything from a gentle reminder to login and join, to asking them to participate in an online forum or survey.

Forums (Start a Discussion)

Once you get the delegates logged in and joined to the event community, it’s important to have them do something. Sure the main purpose is to scan through the other delegates and connect prior to the conference, or visit the sponsor’s virtual booths, but it’s also an opportunity to engage them in a conversation and get some feedback. Use the Forums area to ask what sessions they are looking forward to. Or ask if anyone has any suggestions for things to see and do in the city where the event is being held.

The Hub (Social Media)

Twitter is a fantastic tool for conferences, bordering on obligatory. The Hub page, within the event community, can pull tweets from a dedicated Twitter account, as well as hashtags. Delegates can even tweet directly from within The Hub. Promote the event hashtag and start getting the delegates to interact amongst themselves.

Leebug wants your delegates to have the best, most engaged, experience. We will supply suggested copy for your notifications, promotional material for on site promotions of the mobile app, and are around to assist in any capacity.

For more information, and to schedule a demo, please contact us.

We have made of number of improvements to the Leebug platform recently to handle the needs of our larger clients. We made adjustments “under the hood” to speed up the delegate search (really, the heart of the event networking community), in addition to launching the notifications feature and few other tweaks.

What we are releasing now is an improved method of organizing and viewing complex agendas on our conference app. The event producer, or whomever is running admin on the app CMS, will create a new Track field and name it. They can then go on to create as many Track names as are required over the length of their conference.

In the Agenda section of the app admin there will now appear a new Track drop-down menu option. The admin just has to simply assign the Tracks to the individual agenda items.

On the app itself, instead of having to view the entire day’s agenda in one long list, the user is now presented view a drop down menu at the top of the screen that will sort the day’s event as desired. If they want to view “Track 2 – Investing in Photo Apps” they can select that from the menu, and those agenda items will be displayed. In addition we have our bookmarking feature, My Agenda, that allows the user to favorite each item and save it to their My Agenda page.

For those large conferences that have 2, 3 or even 5 simultaneous tracks of agenda items, this new feature will be very useful for their delegate’s ease of use of the navigating their complex schedule.

For more information, and to schedule a demo, please contact us.

The app, it’s features and URL, should of be promoted on the conference website, in the event community, via social media and email shots, and through our new notifications feature.

The app should also be promoted on site, at the event. Poster boards and digital screens will really get the word out.

Leebug Mobile, our conference app that integrates with the online event communities, has evolved with many new features since its launch in late 2011. We thought we would take this opportunity to summarize the features, and mention a few things we have on the road map for this spring.

Digital Event Guide

Leebug Mobile is a perfect addition, or even replacement, to the event brochure. Save on printing costs! Not only can the app beautifully replicate the print material with the agenda, speaker bios, sponsor details and venue information – but since it’s digital, updates can be made instantly. We also have a My Agenda feature that allows delegates to identify sessions of interest, we can can add links to LinkedIn and Twitter accounts of the speakers and embed a Google Map of the venue location with a PDF of the floor plan.

Ratings and Feedback

The app is a fantastic, and simple, way of getting feedback from delegates on the event. Each speaker and session can be rated on 5 point star scale. An online survey can also be created through the app where questions such as “What was your impression of the event?” “What is the likelihood of you attending next year’s event?” can be composed. Answers can either be multiple choice or text based.

Notifications

Have a schedule or speaker change that needs to be pushed out to the delegates? Our notifications feature allows the event producer to login and compose a message. Recipients can be either the entire conference attendance or cherry picked individual delegates. It’s the easiest way to communicate to a delegate community.

Sponsors Banner Ad Space

Banner ads can be posted within the app. These banners are uploaded by the event producer and sit at the top of most pages within the app. This can be a great benefit for a company looking for extra exposure. Our fee for the privilege of posting is $200 per banner, however our hope is that our fee is recouped by the event producer through the sale of the app sponsorship. Multiple banners can be posted and will rotate randomly amongst each other. We track the number of impressions each banner receives.

Delegate Networking and Messaging

Leebug Mobile integrates seamlessly with the online event community. All delegates invited into the event community will have a profile on the app. Messages, such as requests to meet at the event, can be sent through the app. Leebug login credentials are required to access the delegate page.

Coming Soon – Track Sorting and Search

Some of our larger clients have some very complex agendas and multiple tracks running simultaneously. We are currently developing technology to facilitate the viewing of all this data. The majority of the events using the Leebug platform have between 200 and 2,000 attendees, and again with the larger events in mind we will be adding search functionality.

Pricing for the app starts at $350. Extras include having us load in and manage the data (agenda, speaker bios, etc) or if you would like to post sponsor banners. Please contact us for more information and a demo. Download our product brochure.

We have built in new functionality that allows event producers to send notification messages to their delegates on the Leebug networking platform. We have built the notification system in such a way that it allows the Sender to drill down on exactly who receives the message. While you can notify everyone in the system, you don’t have to. The Sender can also segregate the message into groups. For example, if they only want to message the Speakers. Notifications can even be sent individually by selection, simply check off the delegates that are to receive your message.

This functionality was originally requested in terms of being used while at the event to alert attendees of schedule changes, however it can be used for much more than this. In the days leading up to the conference, messages can be pushed out on topics like promoting features of the event community, and alerts highlighting new speakers and upcoming networking opportunities.

Messages are pushed directly to the receiver’s email address, and also to their Leebug Inbox. Our new notification messaging feature is the easiest way to reach out directly to those attending your event.

Brand new and improved virtual booths! Our new design lays out all the information at once, creating a beautiful, interactive company profile. We have added more social media to the v-Booths, with links to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. We also now pull in a company’s Twitter feed directly into the page. All of this is in addition to the standard features of the v-Booths: logo, description, video embed, contact details, and marketing materials. Now, more than ever before, a virtual booth is the best way to expose your company and products to delegates prior to a conference. See below for a full list of features.

Though the old style booth graphic was lovely to look at, the problem was that it forced much of the company information to be hidden behind popups – requiring an extra mouse click to view. So out with the old and in with the new.

Event producers can purchase virtual booths for sponsors and exhibitors within their event community through either a bulk purchase for all, or on an individual basis – perhaps as a premium offering for select sponsors. Companies can also purchase virtual booths themselves directly off the website in the event community. To learn more, please contact us.

This must be the most requested feature for Leebug Mobile. It has always been on our roadmap, but now it’s here and we are happy to announce our new features for event producers to receive instant feedback on their event.

Ratings

We have set up up the app so that any session or any speaker can be rated by the attendees. On each page there is a “Tap to Rate” prompt which will elegantly display our 5 star rating system. One star is a rating of Poor while five stars is Outstanding. In the app administration tool, the event producer can view the average rating and how many times the particular item had been rated. This tool will be a fantastic resource for getting the delegate’s assessment of an event and it’s content.

Feedback/Polling

This wonderful feature allows event producers to survey their delegates and get instant feedback on any subject they want:

What was your overall impression of the event?

Would you attend the event next year?

Do you have any suggestions for our next event?

The administration tool is intuitive and easy to use, but of course your assigned Leebug rep is always around to assist if the need arises. Answers to your survey questions can be either multiple choice, or text based, or even a combination of both. For example you can have a set of choices as answers, then have “Other” as an option where the respondent can leave a text based answer. Average Ratings and Feedback are only visible to the event producer in the app administration area.

Both the Ratings and the Feedback feature require a login for use. This is for security and prevention of spamming – for example we want to prevent one person from voting multiple times and skewing a rating. Login credentials are issued by Leebug when the delegates are invited to use the app and community.

Contact us if you would like to learn more and try a demo of our app.

Another example would be to turn off the attendee networking component. Some event producers are particularly sensitive about people seeing their delegates (even if viewing them requires a password), and that’s fine, we respect that. In this case the event producer now has a perfectly capable paperless event guide.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Leebug Mobile, the companion app for the Leebug event communities. The app features a full digital event guide and integration with the online delegate community. We have harnessed the power of new HTML5 technologies allowing the app to run consistently across all smartphones and tablets, and to run offline (when there is no internet connection).

Leebug Mobile is loaded with features to facilitate navigating the conference and connecting with the right attendees. Event producers will take advantage of our easy to use content management system, notification system, polling features and ROI analytics*.

Features include:
1. Event schedule
2. Speaker profiles
3. Sponsor and Exhibitor details
4. Venue information
5. Build a personal schedule using Favorites
6. Delegate messaging
7. Banner ad space for sponsors
8. Easy to use CMS (Event producer admin)
9. Polling and ROI tools (Event producer admin)
10. Cross platform (works on any smartphone)

We believe every professional event should have access to this technology – from a 100 person forum to a 2,000 person summit – which is why we are starting pricing at a low $350. No longer do event apps have to be the exclusive domain for large, marquee conferences. Affordable for everyone and easy to use. The price itself can easily be recouped by saving on printing when you go digital and print our fewer event brochures.

Banner ads can be placed in the header of the app. Offer a new promotional space to sponsors and exhibitors. We charge a small fee for the sponsor banner premium service, but this can be looked on a revenue generating opportunity if the ad space is resold or bundled with existing sponsorship packages.

The app comes fully integrated with the online event communities, making the Leebug Platform a leader in the online event networking space. Our Service Service package offers event producers an affordable solution where they can load up the content of the app themselves. Leebug can also manage the content of the app under our Full Service package. For more information on our rates download our pricing sheet.

For more information and to schedule a demo contact mobile@leebug.com

* Notifications and polling coming December 2011

Professional event networking platform Leebug will provide an online and mobile networking platform for delgates at TechCrunch Moscow on December 5th.

TechCrunch Moscow, the technology conference organized by Digital October and Kite Ventures showcasing Russian technology companies and IT start-ups, will use the start-up Leebug to connect entrepreneurs and investors at their upcoming event. Leebug founder Rob Arthurs is thrilled to be working with the blog. “TechCrunch is a technology news source that I read every day, and I am very excited to be working with them on their Moscow conference. The Leebug platform is a perfect fit to facilitate networking between the start-ups and investors at the event.”

“TechCrunch Moscow is excited to offer Leebug to our Russian and international attendees,” Dmitry Repin, CEO of Moscow-based Digital October Center. “Our delegates will benefit from the extra networking online using the custom tools, will be able to enhance their off-line experience at the event itself, and have a digital event guide in the form of the Leebug mobile app for the day of the event.”

The Leebug platform features deep integration with social media outlets LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Delegate filtering options, combined with a simple messaging system allow offline meetings to be easily set up. The new Leebug mobile app will provide a digital event guide complete with schedule details, speaker bios, sponsor info and the delegate community.

TechCrunch Moscow will run on December 5th with invitations to the private Leebug event community going out to the estimated 700 registered delegates a few weeks prior.
